First vintage produced:  1975

Size bottles produced: 750 ml – 6.666 bottles

Climate conditions: Despite higher spring temperatures than the avarage with less rainfalls and a dry and hot summertime, grapes were in perfect shape thanks to the clay soil that hold water deeper, surviving the drought of the whole year. Consequently vines soffered, getting a faster maturation of the grapes. Few rainfalls in september brought a balance that allow us to harvest at the beginning of the month. A good vintage, with -30% of the entire production due to the frost we had in April when bud breaks already started due to higher temperatures.

Summer was cold, with a lot of rainfalls and some hailstorms in specific areas of the hill.  A difficult climate moment where producers worked hard with treatments to protect plant health and manage the canopy and leaves. A so late veraison compared to the past, brought to the harvest in the late september.

Climate conditions: A vintage pretty unusual for Brunello, with a hot winter compared to local average temperatures and a lot of snow at the end of the season that put to the test buds risking frosts. After a constant spring temperature, vines suffered a hot and dry summertime without rains until august, reacting thanks to water reserves of february snowfalls. After a hot late august and good temperature excursions between day and night, the harvest was in time in september.

The second half of august was characterized by higher temperatures bringing a balance. Higher temperatures in september contribute to a higher level of sugar in the grapes reaching an earlier harvest. The perfect clay content in the soil release water that allow us to pick concentrated and perfect shape grapes.

Climate conditions: A perfect climate with a snowy and rainy winter waters the ground deeper. Thanks to that, vines didn’t suffer a dry july, while in august had difficulties to start veraison caused by no water stress. After  september characterized by important tempratures excursions higher then 10°C between day and night, grapes were ripe while still in vegetation. We got very higher quality grapes, perfectly ripe with absolute values not easy to find in Sangiovese varietal. A great vintage to remember.
