Tasting Notes:Score 91/100 “Pacenti’s 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is very pretty. Firm yet well-integrated tannins support the fruit in a Riserva that appears to have the depth and structure to develop nicely for a number of years. Anise, tobacco, leather and savory herb notes add complexity over time. All in all, this mid-weight Riserva is a fine effort from Franco Pacenti. It will be very interesting to see where the 2007 Riserva goes. It certainly appears to have potential, not to mention considerable early appeal. Pacenti gave the 2007 35 months in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023.”

Tasting Notes:“Bright, dark, amber-tinged red. Spicy notes of lavender, clove, nutmeg and marjoram complicate bright redcurrant and violet aromas on the complex nose. Enters the mouth very bright and fresh, with zippy flavors of redcurrant and sweet, spicy red cherry, but turns more austere and minerally on the long, bright finish. Although the tannins are substantial, this is classically dry, not drying. Only 2,666 bottles were made.”
