ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2019 VINOUS

Rosso di montalcino 2019
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA

Vintage: 2019

Score: 91+/100

Tasting Notes:“ The 2019 Rosso di Montalcino is spicy and exotic, opening like a cedar spice box of allspice, cloves and dried flowers. It splashes across the palate with ease, soft and round in nature, yet with a core of vibrant acidity that keeps the energy high. This finishes long and structured with a web of fine tannins, and yet the mouth is left watering for more, as nuances of cranberry and dried citrus rinds slowly taper off. This beautiful sculpted Rosso will take some time to reveal all of its charm.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2016 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2016
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2016

Score: 90/100

Tasting Notes: “The 2016 Franco Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino is youthfully poised and reticent, currently showing more wood influence than fruit, through notes of coffee grinds, mocha and brown spice. There are hints of strawberry, plum and violets beneath, yet they are requiring quite a bit of coaxing to make themselves known. The textures are silky-smooth, giving way to a dense and polished display of dark berries with mineral underpinnings. Nervous acids build tension, while grippy tannins slowly take hold, resulting in a structured and dry finale. This certainly has all of the components for medium-term cellaring, and hopefully time will help its bouquet to blossom..”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA 2015 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino riserva 2015
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2015

Score: 90/100

Tasting Notes: “The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Canalicchio - Franco Pacenti lifts up with a captivating yet savory expression of Sangiovese fruit. Brown spices, mocha, tanned leather and undergrowth form up, showing only a hint of cherry-berry nuances beneath. Its textures envelop the palate in rich dark fruits, laced with saline-minerals, as brisk acids fight to maintain balance against a wave of grippy tannins. Hints of savory herbs and coffee grinds resonate, as this turns quite dry and chewy through the finish, making me wonder if its fruit can keep pace with the 2015’s hulking structure.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO ROSILDO 2015 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino Rosildo 2015
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2015

Score: 93+/1000

Tasting Notes:“Good full red. Sappy, precise aromas of raspberry, violet, minerals and licorice show a slightly liqueur-like quality. Then light on its feet in the mouth, with juicy and penetrating but ultimately mouthcoating flavors of red and dark cherry complicated by herbs and spices. Firmly structured for a warm year, but finishes with enticing creaminess and texture. This is the first vintage ever of this wine, named in honor of the grandfather, Rosildo, of the current Pacenti generation at the helm.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2015 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2015
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2015

Score: 92/100

Tasting Notes: “Bright red-ruby. Slightly reticent on the nose and palate, with noteworthy minerality to the raspberry and licorice flavors. Tightly wound but still very sweet, though less austere than usual for this wine at this stage. The long suave finish hints at herbs and bitter chocolate.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2014 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2014
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2014

Score: 93/100

Tasting Notes:“Luminous pale red. Extremely floral, perfumed nose speaks of violet, lily of the valley, rose, plus sour red cherry and cranberry cocktail. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, with outstanding mineral lift to the fresh strawberry, red cherry and lime flavors. The mouthfeel is firm but not hard-edged, and the finish is very precise and refreshing, with tingling mouthwatering zingy acidity providing outstanding clarity and cut on the long evocative finish. A beautiful wine that is an essence of Sangiovese and one of the vintage’s five best Brunellos.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2013 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2013
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2013

Score: 93/100

Tasting Notes: “Bright red. Very perfumed herbs and strawberry on the enticing nose. Then very floral in the mouth too, offering clean, juicy flavors of red berries, almond paste and flint. The finish is bright and juicy and features lingering saline notes. Slightly more evolved than some other 2013 Brunellos at this stage of development, but also more complex than most. Knockout wine from a producer who excels at making classic, high-acid wines that are at once graceful and powerful. Well done.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2012 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2012
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2012

Score: 92/100

Tasting Notes: “Lively bright red. Primary aromas of raspberry, cherry cola and crushed rocks. At once sweet and austere, with juicy, very pure, red berry flavors, this is rather light in weight with a gentle texture in the typical Franco Pacenti style. Finishes minerally and long with vibrant violet nuances. This ought to blossom nicely given a few years in the cellar.”

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011 VINOUS

Brunello di montalcino 2011
DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Vintage: 2011

Score: 94/100

Tasting Notes:“Pacenti's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is fabulous. A striking, vibrant wine, the 2011 wraps around the palate with bright, red-fleshed fruit, iron, smoke, licorice and tobacco. The 2011 is a bit subdued and also open-knit by Pacenti's standards, yet the wine possesses exceptional balance - especially for the vintage - and a level of sheer appeal that is hard to capture with words alone. This is one of the few 2011 Brunellos will real upside.”
